TCSTHERMAL CONTROL SYSTEMS
SMARTCONTROLLER™ · WHAT SHIPS IN THE BOX

Inside SmartController™

What's inside the SmartController™ — the brain of the TCS tire-conditioning system — and what each capability does for you at the track. One controller, built to grow: every feature here ships in the hardware and lights up through software.

In one page
ONE BRAIN

One controller runs every TCS product

The same brain drives a single warmer set, a full paddock, or products we haven't announced yet. The hardware is complete; growth comes as software.

TWELVE CHANNELS

Independent temperature channels

Each probe has its own dedicated measurement channel. A problem on one channel never touches the others — and a broken probe reports as a fault, never as a believable-looking wrong number.

FIVE WAYS IN

Connected five ways

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth for phone and cloud. CAN for vehicle data. LoRa for the whole paddock. NFC for tap-to-do. Wired USB-C for when radios aren't an option.

HARDWARE SAFETY

Safety lives in hardware

The shutdown paths are physical circuits, designed to fail safe — a cut cable means off, not on. Software convenience never sits between you and "off."

THE RECEIPTS

It keeps the receipts

Onboard storage and a battery-backed clock record every session and heat cycle, timestamped, for years. Your tire history becomes data you can act on.

EVERY SCREEN

One controller, every screen

The same unit drives glass from a 1.85″ round display to a 15″ pit console — or runs headless as a quiet node in a larger system.

01 · The brain

Two processors split the work.

One thinks, one talks.

Main processor

DUAL-CORE · DEDICATED SAFETY CORE
What it is

A modern dual-core processor with generous memory, running everything: temperature control, the touchscreen, logging, and every capability on this page.

What it does for you
  • Safety-critical code runs on its own core at the highest priority, separate from the screen and the apps. A busy display can never slow down the code watching your tires.
  • Updates install to a spare slot and roll back automatically if anything goes wrong — an update can't leave the unit stranded.

Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth

2.4 + 5 GHZ · BLE
What it is

A second processor dedicated entirely to radio — Wi-Fi 6 on both bands, plus Bluetooth Low Energy.

What it does for you
  • Phone app, fleet monitoring, and over-the-air updates.
  • Bluetooth sensors — tire-pressure and more — pair straight to the unit.
  • 5 GHz matters at the track: the 2.4 GHz band in a busy paddock is a wall of noise, and this unit isn't stuck on it.
02 · The senses

What it measures.

The heart of the product lives here.

Twelve temperature channels

INDEPENDENT · FAULT-AWARE
What it is

Twelve probe channels, each with its own dedicated measurement electronics. Not one sensor switched twelve ways — twelve sensors, each owning its probe.

What it does for you
  • Per-corner tire and rim temperatures drive the conditioning profiles — the core of getting every tire to its performance window, on demand.
  • Twelve channels runs a full kart grid of warmers, or tire-plus-rim per corner, with room to spare.
  • Independence is the safety story: one channel's problem never becomes twelve. And a damaged probe announces itself as a fault — it can never masquerade as a plausible temperature.

Weather awareness

HUMIDITY + AIR TEMPERATURE
What it is

A precision ambient sensor — air temperature and humidity, measured right at the unit.

What it does for you
  • Every session log carries the conditions it happened in. A cold damp morning and a hot dry afternoon are different tire days — now the data says so.
  • Warm-up from a cold morning is a different job than from a hot afternoon; profiles can account for it.

Motion sensing

ACCELEROMETER + GYROSCOPE
What it is

A motion sensor that knows which way is up, when the unit is moving, and how hard.

What it does for you
  • The screen orients itself to how you mount the unit.
  • On vehicle-mounted builds: lean, braking, and acceleration traces alongside GPS.
  • A knock or drop in transport gets noticed and logged.

GPS

MULTI-CONSTELLATION · UP TO 25 HZ
What it is

A satellite receiver with genuine lap-timer-grade update rates and a precision time signal.

What it does for you
  • Lap timing and sector splits on vehicle-mounted builds — the anchor of the SmartLap™ product line.
  • The unit knows which circuit it's at; your logs get a place as well as a time.
  • Precision time keeps every TCS unit on the property on one shared clock.
03 · Connectivity

Five ways to reach it.

Each with a different reach.

CAN bus

VEHICLE NETWORK
What it is

The wired network most modern vehicles speak — rugged, noise-tolerant, built for the environment under a fairing.

What it does for you
  • Plug into the vehicle and log what it already knows — tire-pressure systems, engine data, dashes.
  • Chain multiple TCS units on one wire in the pit.

LoRa long-range radio

KILOMETERS OF RANGE
What it is

A radio that trades speed for reach: small messages, kilometers of range, walls and trailers no obstacle. The opposite trade from Wi-Fi — and the right one for a paddock.

What it does for you
  • Every warmer station across the paddock reports to one console — no network setup, no pairing ceremony, no infrastructure.
  • Every unit both sends and receives; a whole fleet needs no extra hardware beyond its antennas.
  • One unit can act as the gateway, linking the whole fleet to the cloud.

NFC — tap to do

TAP YOUR PHONE · TAG YOUR TIRES
What it is

The tap radio: centimeters of range on purpose — touching the unit is the intent.

What it does for you
  • Tap your phone to pair. No menus, no codes.
  • Tag a tire set with a coin-size sticker: tap it to the unit and that set's compound profile and heat-cycle history load. The tire carries its own identity.
  • A tap can identify who made a change — useful discipline for teams.

Wired link to SmartSupply™

ISOLATED · INDUSTRIAL-GRADE
What it is

A dedicated, electrically-isolated wired link between the SmartController™ and the SmartSupply™ power unit.

What it does for you
  • The controller commands; the power unit delivers. Every heat decision crosses this wire — and it's engineered and reviewed as a safety-critical connection.
  • If valid commands ever stop flowing, the power side steps down to safe on its own. Silence means off.

USB-C ×2

WIRED · ALWAYS WORKS
What it is

Two USB-C ports: one to connect the unit to a computer, one to plug accessories and thumb drives into the unit.

What it does for you
  • Wired updates and data export that work when no radio does.
  • Drop your session data onto a thumb drive and hand it to anyone.
04 · Screen & sound

The face and the voice.

One controller, every screen

1.85″ ROUND → 15″ CONSOLE
What it is

The display connects through a single interface designed to drive everything from a compact round display to a full pit console — same controller, same software, different glass.

What it does for you
  • The product family shares one brain: compact controllers, the paddock unit, vehicle-mounted SmartLap™, big-screen pit consoles.
  • Headless is legitimate too — a unit with no screen at all runs quietly as part of a larger system, commanded from the app or the console.

Voice and sound

SPEAKER + MICROPHONE
What it is

A real audio system — quality sound, not a beeper — with connections for an external speaker and microphone.

What it does for you
  • Spoken status: "Front left at temperature." Eyes stay on the work; the unit talks.
  • Distinct tones per event — you learn what the unit is saying without looking.
  • Voice notes: pin a ten-second observation to the session log, hands still gloved.

Alert output

FOR A REAL HORN
What it is

A dedicated output for a loud external sounder — the layer above the speaker.

What it does for you
  • Safety events that must not be missed get a sound that carries over generators and impact guns. Reserved for what matters, so it stays meaningful.
05 · Safety

Fail-safe by design.

Hardware shutdown paths

PHYSICAL · ISOLATED · DEDICATED
What it is

The shutdown and enable lines are physical, isolated circuits on dedicated connections — not messages traveling through software layers.

What it does for you
  • Designed to fail safe: before software even starts, the safe state is off. A cut cable means off. Silence on the command link means off.
  • Faults stay contained: a problem on one channel shuts down that channel — it never cascades across your paddock.
  • Every safety event is recorded with its cause and timestamp — an audit trail you can stand behind.
06 · Memory

It remembers.

Onboard storage + real-time clock

4 GB · BATTERY-BACKED TIME
What it is

Storage soldered to the board — nothing to lose, corrode, or fall out — plus a precision clock that keeps real time even after months unpowered.

What it does for you
  • Every session, every heat cycle, every event: timestamped and kept for years. Compare this weekend to last season.
  • Faults are preserved with full context — the black box for warranty and peace of mind.
  • Scheduled warm-ups: tires ready when you arrive. Manual control always wins.
07 · What’s next

Fitted, not promised.

SmartLoop™

IN DEVELOPMENT
What it is

Our next leap in conditioning intelligence — connecting what happens on track to how your tires are prepared. In development now; we'll share how it works when it launches.

What it means for you
  • It ships on hardware already in the unit. When SmartLoop™ arrives, it arrives as an upgrade — no new box.

Room to grow

THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
What it is

The capabilities on this page ship in the hardware today and light up through software. That's the design philosophy: build the complete instrument once, then keep making it more capable.

What it means for you
  • The unit you buy grows. GPS features, tire tags, fleet coverage, voice — delivered to hardware you already own.

The instrument is built. Watch it work.

See what all of this does for a set of tires on a cold Saturday morning — or ask us anything directly.
